KEVIN FRAKES grew up in West Chester Pennsylvania (a suburb of Philadelphia). As a young man, Kevin pursued a career as a baseball player, but he was prematurely forced out of the game due to an injury. Following baseball, Kevin began his career in the film industry. After only two years of study, he graduated with a BFA from the Nation’s top film program at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. While at NYU, Kevin concentrated in producing and garnished much success as a producer of short films and music videos. In 2001, Kevin won several awards for producing a short film called The Truce, the true story about a Christmas Day truce during World War I wherein British and German soldiers engaged in a friendly game of soccer. Kevin won the prize of Best Producer for the project at New York Magazine’s First Run Film Festival. The film also earned Kevin an Emmy nomination at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences College TV Awards.

At the age of 24, Kevin matriculated at the Yale School of Management where he received his MBA in 2004. Upon graduation, with a business plan in hand, Kevin raised capital from a number of investors and founded PalmStar Entertainment. Shortly thereafter he moved to Los Angeles and set up the company’s first office.

In the Fall of 2004, Kevin produced and financed the independent feature film Fifty Pills, directed by Theo Avgerinos and starring Kristen Bell, Lou Taylor Pucci, Eddie Kaye Thomas, John Hensley and Michael Pena. The movie premiered at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival and received a distribution deal from Echo Bridge. In the Summer of 2005, Kevin was the lead producer on Palm-Star’s Premium. The film was directed by Pete Chatmon and starred Zoe Saldana, Hill Harper and Dorian Missick. It premiered at the Miami International Film Festival and is currently gearing up for a theatrical run in January 2007 via a distribution deal with CodeBlack Entertainment.

Kevin is currently producing Down & Dirty Pictures, Lunar Park, Ian Fleming:The Man Behind James Bond among several other films.
