JONATHAN SHUKAT (Development/Production Executive) was born and raised in New York City. His interest in the entertainment industry was encouraged by his father, Scott Shukat, who was a former agent at the William Morris Agency and the CEO of The Shukat Company Ltd. where he represented composers including the Academy Award winning composer Alan Menken. After the short off-Broadway run of Jonathan’s one act play Inturrium, he attended Columbia University where he majored in Film Studies and English/Comparative Literature. During his senior year, Jonathan directed and produced the documentary short Only Seconds Left that was accepted out of competition to the 2005 Cannes Film Festival. Jonathan would follow this film with the short film Something of Value which he co-wrote and produced that is currently being submitted to film festivals.
After graduation in May 2005, Jonathan took a job as the set assistant to GreeneStreet Films producers John Penotti and Fisher Stevens on their films Awake (Weinstein Co.) starring Jessica Alba and Terrance Howard and director Michael Ian Black’s Wedding Daze starring Jason Biggs and Isla Fisher. Jonathan then became the full time assistant to Stevens and Penotti where he gained an understanding of film financing, development, foreign sales, and investor relations.
